Behind the scenes: building a template that converts
We dissect the design decisions that went into our latest SaaS hero section — from color contrast to copy length.
Most landing page templates are designed by visual designers who never run A/B tests. We're different. Our latest template, "SaaS Hero Pro", went through three rounds of user testing before we released it.
First, we tested the hero layout: a left-aligned headline with a right-side illustration vs. a centered headline. Left-aligned won by 12% in click-through. Then we tested the CTA copy: "Get started free" vs. "Start your free trial". The latter increased signups by 8%. Small changes, big impact.
We also optimized for mobile. Over 60% of our beta testers viewed the page on their phones. So we made sure the headline fits in 5 words on mobile, the CTA button is thumb-friendly, and the illustration collapses gracefully. The final template is one file, but it's backed by data.
